Project Watch Acquisitions Complete North Queensland Gold Exploration Active Pre-IPO Platform
North Queensland gold consolidation

Manda Resources has completed a 1.33Moz North Queensland gold consolidation and moved directly into drilling and IPO preparation.

Emerald Resources-backed Manda Resources has completed the acquisition of a portfolio of North Queensland gold assets, bringing Alice River, St George Gold-Antimony, Tregoora and Northcote Goldfields into one emerging platform with a current combined JORC gold resource of about 1.33 million ounces.

The completion converts a proposed June transaction into an executed corporate and exploration milestone. Manda has also completed a $9 million pre-IPO capital raise, appointed experienced exploration executive Tara French as chief executive officer and commenced drilling at Tregoora and Northcote.

The next phase is not mine construction. Manda is targeting an ASX listing in late 2026, subject to market conditions and formal admission requirements, while drilling and project-definition work continue across the portfolio.

Current signal: consolidation is complete, capital is in place and exploration is active. The strongest near-term industry opportunities remain drilling, field services, access, logistics, laboratories and technical studies rather than confirmed mine-build packages.

Why this stage matters The key development is completion, not another proposal. Manda now controls the assembled North Queensland portfolio, has funded its near-term exploration program and is moving toward a potential public-market listing.

The proposed consolidation has become an operating exploration platform

Emerald Resources announced on 22 September that Manda had completed the North Queensland acquisitions that were first outlined in June. The transaction transfers the Alice River Gold Project and the St George Gold-Antimony interests into Manda and adds the Territory Minerals portfolio, which includes Tregoora and Northcote Goldfields together with broader North Queensland exploration tenure.

That completion is the material stage change. In June, the structure was conditional and the market was assessing what a new vehicle might ultimately look like. Manda now has the assets assembled, a current combined JORC gold resource base of approximately 1.33Moz, an executive team in place and field activity underway.

Emerald currently holds a 19.8 per cent direct interest in Manda and contributed $6.4 million of the $9 million pre-IPO raising. Emerald has said it intends to participate as a cornerstone investor in a proposed Manda IPO and maintain an interest of about 19.9 per cent after listing, subject to the transaction proceeding and formal ASX admission requirements.

BBI stage discipline: the completed acquisitions and current drilling are confirmed. The proposed ASX listing, future resource growth, economic studies, mine development and any construction program remain conditional and should not be treated as approved.

The portfolio stretches across several distinct North Queensland gold systems

Portfolio intelligence

Four core project names anchor the current resource and exploration story

Alice River is a large gold exploration system in Cape York, while St George adds gold-antimony exposure through a joint-venture structure. The Territory Minerals acquisition adds Tregoora and Northcote Goldfields, where Manda has already started drilling using funds from the pre-IPO raise.

June transaction material also identified additional Territory Minerals ground at Atric and Reedy. BBI is treating those areas as part of the broader exploration platform rather than inflating the current 1.33Moz headline resource figure beyond the projects referenced in current reporting.

The commercial significance is portfolio scale. Instead of several disconnected early-stage assets, the consolidation puts multiple prospects, granted mining leases and exploration permits into one company with a dedicated management team and a single capital-markets strategy.

That structure can support coordinated exploration planning, shared technical resources and stronger regional procurement efficiency. It does not mean the assets will be developed as one mine or on one timetable. Each project will still require its own geological definition, approvals, technical studies and investment decisions.

The June transaction structure also shows why the platform is broader than a simple asset transfer. The Territory Minerals acquisition brought a package of exploration permits and granted mining leases across the Hodgkinson Basin, while Alice River and St George add separate geological systems and ownership structures. That diversification gives Manda multiple exploration vectors, but it also means technical work will need to be project-specific rather than assuming one common development concept.

For suppliers, the immediate practical question is where activity is visible. Tregoora and Northcote currently provide the clearest signal because drilling has commenced. Alice River and St George remain strategically important parts of the platform, but BBI has not found a current announcement confirming equivalent active procurement programs at those projects in this update.

The $9 million pre-IPO raise has already shifted the story from transaction to field execution

Manda completed its pre-IPO capital raising before the acquisition completion, with $9 million raised before costs. Emerald contributed $6.4 million and now holds 19.8 per cent of the company. Current reporting says those funds are being applied to active drilling at Tregoora and Northcote.

For the Queensland supply chain, this is the first practical delivery signal. Exploration programs create demand for drill contractors, geological support, sample preparation and assay laboratories, access-track maintenance, field vehicles, fuel, accommodation, environmental and heritage services, survey support and specialist technical consultants.

Those services are materially different from mine-development packages. No current source reviewed by BBI confirms an EPC contract, process plant, mine-services tender, construction camp package or final development schedule for the Manda portfolio. Capability providers should therefore read the current opportunity as exploration-led.

Commercial interpretation Capital is available and drilling is active now. That is enough to create a real exploration-services market, but not enough to justify calling civil, processing or mine-construction work confirmed.

The next corporate gate is a proposed ASX listing — not a final investment decision

Stage pathway

Acquisitions, funding and drilling are complete or active; IPO and development decisions remain ahead

Manda is targeting an ASX listing in late 2026, subject to market conditions and meeting the exchange’s formal admission requirements. Emerald has indicated it intends to retain a cornerstone position through that process.

A successful listing could broaden Manda’s funding base and give the consolidated portfolio a dedicated public-market vehicle. It would not itself approve a mine. The technical sequence after listing would still depend on drilling results, resource updates, metallurgical and mining studies, permitting requirements and board-level investment decisions.

The appointment of Tara French as CEO adds an experienced exploration executive to lead that transition. Her background includes more than 25 years as an exploration geologist, including senior roles at Cazaly Resources and Regis Resources.

A public listing would also change how the exploration platform is financed and reported. Dedicated market disclosure can make resource updates, drilling budgets and project prioritisation more visible to contractors and investors, but the listing process itself does not guarantee additional capital beyond the funds already raised. BBI will therefore treat a completed ASX admission as a corporate milestone, and any later project funding or development sanction as separate gates.

The 1.33Moz resource base is best viewed as a starting inventory for further definition rather than a production plan. Mineral Resources describe geological confidence and reasonable prospects for eventual economic extraction; they do not establish the mineable quantity, schedule, processing route, capital requirement or commercial return that would be required for a development decision.

For contractors, the near-term opportunity sits in exploration and project definition

Drilling, logistics and technical services are the clearest current demand areas

With drilling underway, contractors should watch for expansion of rig programs, camp and field logistics, track and pad preparation, earthworks supporting access, consumables, water management, geophysical and geochemical programs, core handling, laboratory services and environmental or heritage fieldwork.

If drilling supports resource growth, the capability mix may later broaden into scoping studies, resource modelling, metallurgy, hydrogeology, geotechnical investigations, mine planning, infrastructure studies and permitting support. Those later services are plausible development pathways, not confirmed procurement.

The consolidated ownership structure may make it easier to aggregate regional service requirements across projects. For North Queensland contractors, that could matter even before a mine-development decision because a multi-project exploration program can support recurring work rather than a single short campaign.
